The 9th Francisco Mantecón International Publicity Poster Design Competition 
The 9th Francisco Mantecón International Publicity Poster Design Competition is organized by the Spanish wine company TERRAS GAUDA.

During the meeting held on 21 December 2001 a decision was adopted which reads as follows:
"The Board of Directors of Bodegas Terras Gauda, S.A., has unanimously agreed to set up an annual Advertising Poster Design Competition as a tribute to the artist who was not only solely responsible for the design of the corporate image, but also been a friend, efficient collaborator and partner since the creation of the Company. The winning original will form the basis for the Company's advertising campaign for a one year period".
Terras Gauda Wineries and the Vigo Port Authority are once again the proud sponsors of the enormous and prestigious communications project that the Francisco Mantecón International Advertising Poster Competition has become. In an effort to establish a permanent connection between the competition and the city of Vigo and Galicia, both parties have signed a collaborative agreement wich will allow the Port of Vigo (one of the most important in the world) to serve as a annual exhibition of the original Competition entries. The Port will also host meetings of the panel of judges and the ve the site of the award ceremony.
The following announcement is the fruit of this agreement:
• Participants
This competition is open to any natural or corporate person subject only to the restrictions imposed by current legislation.
• Works
Original copies of entries, which must be unpublished, are to be submitted or mailed (by recorded delivery if the participant so wishes) to the offices of Bodegas Terras Gauda offices in O Rosal (Galicia, Spain). All entries must be submitted in two formats:
- Recorded on a CD or diskette (in PC-readable format)
- Printed and affixed to light card, suitably protected, with a size 50x70 cm.
Any form of photographic, painting or computerised techniques, etc may be used.
Under exceptional circumstances originals created using painting techniques (oil, watercolours, guasch, pastels, etc) may be accepted without a computerised format.
Each participant is allowed to present a maximum of two entries.
Participant may base their entries on the theme of their choice, although ideally they will reflect corporate issues of the organising company, principally relating to its white wines of the Albariño variety Terras Gauda and Abadía de San Campio wines. Credit will be given for creativity and the incorporation of the Company's logo into the design.
If requested, Bodegas Terras Gauda will provide the designers with a vectored copy of the logo that may be apllied to the works, as well as images of their products. These will be available at the followingwww.terrasgauda.com and Images and Logo.
• Presentation
The works will be presented inside a sealed envelope bearing the author's pseudonym. It is critical that the following information be included:
- Artist's full name
- Photocopy of his/her Identity Card
- Address, Telephone Number and email
- Written acceptance of the competition rules available at www.franciscomantecon.com.
• Addres and closing date
The works are to be sent to Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., at the following address: Carretera de Tui-A Guarda, km. 46, O Rosal - 36760 Pontevedra, Spain, before 6 p.m. on 30 September 2010. All those works postmarked prior to 6 p.m. on 30 September will be accepted.
• Conditions
The winning works and all corresponding rights will become the property of Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., that likewise reserves the right to reproduce the finalists´ works.
The rest of cartels participant will be destroyed before notary to guarantee to his authors not utilization of the sames ones.
• Panel of judges
The jury of the Ninth edition of the Francisco Mantecón Poster Design Prize will be chaired by José Mª Fonseca Moretón, Chairman of Bodegas Terras Gauda, with the additional members:
- Pilar Barreiro Mosquera - Philologist and widow of Francisco Mantecón
- Emilio Gil - Graphic designer
- Enrique Costas Rodríguez - Managing Director of Bodegas Terras Gauda
- Corina Porro Martínez - President of the Vigo Port Authority and the Port of Vigo Foundation
- Agustín Quevedo - Art Director for Hola magazine
- Paulino Novo Folgueira - Philologist (Panel secretary)
- Ángel Luis González - Winner of the past edition
The judges' decision is final an they hold sole responsibility for resolving any situation not contemplated in these rules and conditions.
• Prizes
Terras Gauda Wineries shall award:
• GRAND PRIZE, WORTH 10,000 EUROS
• 1st HONORABLE MENTION, THE PORT OF VIGO FOUNTATION AWARD, WORTH 2,000 EUROS
• 2nd HONORABLE MENTION, WORTH 2,000 EUROS
• SPECIAL MENTION, WORTH 2,000 EUROS
(The warehouse reserves the right to grant a Special Mention).
The judges may opt not to award any of the prizes. In this event, the corresponding prize money is to be donated to an organisation that, in the opinion of the panel of judges, has made an outstanding social or cultural contribution to Galicia.
• Award ceremony
The jury's decision will be announced at a public event to held before 31 December 2010, on a date and at place to be comunicated ind due course to those designers whose entries are accepted as finalists in the competition, and also published on the www.terrasgauda.com andwww.franciscomantecon.com websites

Il 9º Concorso Internazionale di Cartellonistica Pubblicitaria Francisco Mantecón è organizzato dalla Cantina spagnola TERRAS GAUDA.

Nella sessione celebrata il giorno 21 dicembre 2001 fù aprovata la propos ta e più precisamente:
"Bodegas Terras Gauda, S.A., con accordo all´unanimità del Consiglio d´Amministrazione, decide di instituire con carattere annuale un Concorso di Disegno di Cartellonistica Pubblicitaria, in onore dell´artista che fù esclusivo disegnatore dell´immagine corporativa, amico, efficace collaboratore e socio fin dal momento della fondazione, intitolato al nome di "Francisco Mantecón". L´originalità sarà il suppotro fondamentale sulla quale si baserà l´immagine pubblicitaria dell´entità convocante durante il presente anno".
Le Cantine Terras Gauda e l'Autorità Portuaria di Vigo, che raccoglie l'ingente lavoro di comunicazione e prestigio in cui si è convertito il Concorso Internazionale di Cartelli Pubblicitari Francisco Mantecón, alle ricerca del suo vincolo permanente con la città di Vigo e Galizia hanno firmato un accordo di collaborazione che permetterà da un lato che il Porto di Vigo, uno dei più importanti del mondo, sia la vetrina annuale dell'avanguardia dell'arte internazionale mediante l'esposizione annuale degli originali che partecipano al Concorso, così come il luogo di riunione della giuria e cornice della consegna dei premi.
Frutto degli accordi anteriori si fanno pubbliche le seguenti Regolamento
• Requisiti per participare
Potrà partecipare a questo concorso qualsiasi persona fisica o giuridica senza limitazioni imposte dalla legge in vigore.
• Lavori
Il lavori per la partecipazione al concorso, dovranno essere consegnati o inoltrati (con ricevuta di ritorno, chi lo desiderasse) presso Bodegas Terras Gauda a O Rosal (Galicia, la Spagna), in copia originale inedita, su due tipi di supporto:
- Registrati in un CD o dischetto (leggibile in formato PC)
- Stampati e montati su cartoncino leggero debitamente protteto a grandezza 50x70 cm.
Potranno essere realizzati con qualsiasi tecnica pittorica, fotografica, informatica, ecc.
Eccezionalmente gli originali realizzati con tecniche pittoriche (olio, acquarello, tempera, pastelli, ecc) potranno essere ammessi senza supporto informatico.
Si potranno presentare un massimo di due lavori per ogni partecipante.
L´argomento sarà libero e preferibilmente riguarderà aspetti corporativi dell´entità convocante, fondamentalmente, quelli relativi ai suoi vini bianchi, varietà Albariño, Terras Gauda e Abadía de San Campio. Si valuterà positivamente la creatività in questo senso e come si relazionerà ll´anagramma societario con i suddetti aspetti.
Bodegas Terras Gauda metterà a disposizione di tutti i disegnatori che lo richiedano, l´anagramma dell´entità in sistema vettorizzato per la sua applicazione nelle opere da realizzare, così come immagini dei suoi prodotti. Saranno disponibili in www.terrasgauda.com e www.franciscomantecon.com.
• Presentazione
Gli elaborati in busta chiusta recante, all'esterno, lo pseudonimo dell'autore. Inserire necessariamente i deti di cui appresso:
- Nome e cognome dell´autore
- Fotocopia del D.N.I. (carta d´identità)
- Indirizzo, telefono e di posta elettronica
- Sritto di accettazione delle basi del certamen.É disponibile in www.franciscomantecon.com.
• Luogo e Termini
I lavori dovranno essere inviati a Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., Carretera de Tui-A Guarda, km. 46, O Rosal - 36760 Pontevedra, la Spagna, prima delle ore 18 del giorno 30 settembre 2010. Saranno ammessi per posta tutti quei lavori che riporteranno il timbro degli uffici postali prima delle ore 18 del giorno 30 settembre.
• Condizione
I lavori premiati al concorso e tutti i loro diritti saranno di proprietà di Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., che si riserva ugualmente il diritto della riproduzione delle opere finaliste.
Il resto dei cartelli partecipante saranno distrutti innanzi al notaio per garantire ai suoi autori il non utilizzo degli stessi.
• Giuria
La giuria della nona edizione del Premio "Francisco Mantecón di Cartellonistica", sarà presieduta dal Sig. José Mª Fonseca Moretón, Presidente di Bodegas Terras Gauda, e sarà altresì formata dai membri di cui appresso:
- Sigra. Pilar Barreiro Mosquera - Filologa e vedova di Francisco Mantecón
- Sig. Emilio Gil - Graphic Designer
- Sig. Enrique Costas Rodríguez - Direttore generale di Bodegas Terras Gauda
- Sigra. Corina Porro Martínez - Presidente dell'Autorità Portuaria di Vigo e della Fondazione Porto di Vigo
- Sig. Agustín Quevedo - Direttore Artistico della rivista Hola
- Sig. Paulino Novo Folgueira - Filologo (segretatio della giuria)
- Sig. Ángel Luis González - Vincitore dell'edizione precedente
La decisione della giuria sarà inappellabile ed a lei competerà risolvere qualsiasi circonstanza non prevista in questo regolamento.
• Premi
Cantine Terras Gauda concederà:
• 1º PREMIO, CONSISTENTE IN 10.000 EURO
• 1º ACCÉSIT FONDAZIONE PORTO DI VIGO, CONSISTENTE IN 2.000 EURO
• 2º ACCÉSIT, CONSISTENTE IN 2.000 EURO
• MENZIONE SPECIALE, CONSISTENTE IN 2.000 EURO
(La cantina si riserva il diritto di concedere una menzione speciale).
La giuria potrà dichiarare nullo uno qualsiasi dei premi. In questo caso, l´importo corrispondente verrà donato ad un´entità che, per criterio della giuria, si contraddistingue in Galicia per il suo lavoro sociale o culturale.
• Consegna dei Premi
La decisione della giuria verrà resa nota nel corsodi una manifestaziones da svolgersi entro il 31 di dicembre 2010, nel luogo e alla data di cui si darà debita comunicazione agli autori le cui opere verranno ammesse alle finali del concorso nonché sui siti Web www.terrasgauda.com e www.franciscomantecon.com
