The 9th Francisco Mantecón International Publicity Poster Design Competition 
The 9th Francisco Mantecón International Publicity Poster Design Competition is organized by the Spanish wine company TERRAS GAUDA.

During the meeting held on 21 December 2001 a decision was adopted which reads as follows:
"The Board of Directors of Bodegas Terras Gauda, S.A., has unanimously agreed to set up an annual Advertising Poster Design Competition as a tribute to the artist who was not only solely responsible for the design of the corporate image, but also been a friend, efficient collaborator and partner since the creation of the Company. The winning original will form the basis for the Company's advertising campaign for a one year period".
Terras Gauda Wineries and the Vigo Port Authority are once again the proud sponsors of the enormous and prestigious communications project that the Francisco Mantecón International Advertising Poster Competition has become. In an effort to establish a permanent connection between the competition and the city of Vigo and Galicia, both parties have signed a collaborative agreement wich will allow the Port of Vigo (one of the most important in the world) to serve as a annual exhibition of the original Competition entries. The Port will also host meetings of the panel of judges and the ve the site of the award ceremony.
The following announcement is the fruit of this agreement:
• Participants
This competition is open to any natural or corporate person subject only to the restrictions imposed by current legislation.
• Works
Original copies of entries, which must be unpublished, are to be submitted or mailed (by recorded delivery if the participant so wishes) to the offices of Bodegas Terras Gauda offices in O Rosal (Galicia, Spain). All entries must be submitted in two formats:
- Recorded on a CD or diskette (in PC-readable format)
- Printed and affixed to light card, suitably protected, with a size 50x70 cm.
Any form of photographic, painting or computerised techniques, etc may be used.
Under exceptional circumstances originals created using painting techniques (oil, watercolours, guasch, pastels, etc) may be accepted without a computerised format.
Each participant is allowed to present a maximum of two entries.
Participant may base their entries on the theme of their choice, although ideally they will reflect corporate issues of the organising company, principally relating to its white wines of the Albariño variety Terras Gauda and Abadía de San Campio wines. Credit will be given for creativity and the incorporation of the Company's logo into the design.
If requested, Bodegas Terras Gauda will provide the designers with a vectored copy of the logo that may be apllied to the works, as well as images of their products. These will be available at the followingwww.terrasgauda.com and Images and Logo.
• Presentation
The works will be presented inside a sealed envelope bearing the author's pseudonym. It is critical that the following information be included:
- Artist's full name
- Photocopy of his/her Identity Card
- Address, Telephone Number and email
- Written acceptance of the competition rules available at www.franciscomantecon.com.
• Addres and closing date
The works are to be sent to Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., at the following address: Carretera de Tui-A Guarda, km. 46, O Rosal - 36760 Pontevedra, Spain, before 6 p.m. on 30 September 2010. All those works postmarked prior to 6 p.m. on 30 September will be accepted.
• Conditions
The winning works and all corresponding rights will become the property of Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., that likewise reserves the right to reproduce the finalists´ works.
The rest of cartels participant will be destroyed before notary to guarantee to his authors not utilization of the sames ones.
• Panel of judges
The jury of the Ninth edition of the Francisco Mantecón Poster Design Prize will be chaired by José Mª Fonseca Moretón, Chairman of Bodegas Terras Gauda, with the additional members:
- Pilar Barreiro Mosquera - Philologist and widow of Francisco Mantecón
- Emilio Gil - Graphic designer
- Enrique Costas Rodríguez - Managing Director of Bodegas Terras Gauda
- Corina Porro Martínez - President of the Vigo Port Authority and the Port of Vigo Foundation
- Agustín Quevedo - Art Director for Hola magazine
- Paulino Novo Folgueira - Philologist (Panel secretary)
- Ángel Luis González - Winner of the past edition
The judges' decision is final an they hold sole responsibility for resolving any situation not contemplated in these rules and conditions.
• Prizes
Terras Gauda Wineries shall award:
• GRAND PRIZE, WORTH 10,000 EUROS
• 1st HONORABLE MENTION, THE PORT OF VIGO FOUNTATION AWARD, WORTH 2,000 EUROS
• 2nd HONORABLE MENTION, WORTH 2,000 EUROS
• SPECIAL MENTION, WORTH 2,000 EUROS
(The warehouse reserves the right to grant a Special Mention).
The judges may opt not to award any of the prizes. In this event, the corresponding prize money is to be donated to an organisation that, in the opinion of the panel of judges, has made an outstanding social or cultural contribution to Galicia.
• Award ceremony
The jury's decision will be announced at a public event to held before 31 December 2010, on a date and at place to be comunicated ind due course to those designers whose entries are accepted as finalists in the competition, and also published on the www.terrasgauda.com andwww.franciscomantecon.com websites

Le IXe concours international de dessin d’affiches publicitaires est organisé par l’entreprise vinicole espagnole Bodegas TERRAS GAUDA.

>A la réunion tenue le 21 décembre 2001 a été approuvée l'arrêté qui, littéralement, est le suivant:
"Bodegas Terras Gauda, S.A., sur décision unanime du Conseil d'Administration, convient d'instituer un Concours annuel de Dessin d'Affiches Publicitaires qui, en honneur de l'artiste qui a été dessinateur exclusif de l'image corporative, ami, collaborateur efficace et associé dès la fondation, portera le nom de "Francisco Mantecón". L'original sera le support fondamental autour duquel tournera l'image publicitaire de l'organisme qui organise le concours chaque année".
Bodegas Terras Gauda et de l'Autorité Portuaire de Vigo, qui reprend le travail considérable de communication et de prestige qui est devenu le Concour International d'Affiches pour Publicité Francisco Mantecón, dans la recherche de son attachement permanent avec la ville e Vigo et Galice, ont signé un accord de collaboration qui permetra d'une part que le port de Vigo, l'un des plus importants du monde, soit la vitrine annuelle de l'avant de l'art internacionale par l'exposition annuelle des originaux qui participent au concours, ainsi que Lieu de réunion du jury et cadre de la remise des prix.
Fruit des accords précedents rendent publiques les suivantes Règlement
• Participants
Toute personne physique ou morale, sans autre limitation que celles imposées par la légalité en vigueur, pourra participer à ce concours.
• Oeuvres
Les originaux, qui devront être inédits, seront présentés ou envoyés (avec justificatif d'envoi, les participants qui le souhaiteront) aux établissements de Bodegas Terras Gauda à O Rosal (Galicia, l'Espagne). Tous les travaux présentés au concours seront présentés sur deux types de support:

- Imprimés et collés sur un carton plume dûment protégé format du support 50x70 cm.
Ils pourront être réalisés suivant n'importe quelle technique de peinture, photographie, informatique, etc.
Exceptionnellement, les originaux réalisés selon des techniques de peinture (huile, aquarelle, gouache, pastel, etc.) pourront être admis sans support informatique.
Chaque participant pourra présenter un maximum de deux ouvrages.
Le thème sera libre et reflètera de préférence des aspects corporatifs de l'organisme organisateur, notamment, ceux relatifs à ses vins blancs de la varieté Albariño Terras Gauda et Abadía de San Campio. On évaluera positivement la créativité dans ce sens et l'insertion de l'anagramme de la société.
Bodegas Terras Gauda mettra à la disposition de tous les dessinateurs qui le demanderont l'anagramme de la société en système vectorisé en vue de l'appliquer dans les ouvrages, ainsi que des images de ses produits. Ils seront disponibles sur www.terrasgauda.com et Photos e anagrammes.
• Présentation
Les ouvres seront présentés dans une enveloppe scellée sur laquelle figurera le pseudonyme de l'auteur. Il est indispensable d'inclure les informations suivants:
- Nom et prénom de l'auteur
- hotocopie de la Carte d'Identité
- Adresse, nº de téléphone et e-mail
- Lettre d'acceptation du règlement du concours. Est disponible en www.franciscomantecon.com.
• Lieu et dèlai
Les ouvrages seront adressés à Bodegas Terras Gauda, S. A., Carretera de Tui-A Guarda, km. 46, O Rosal - 36760 Pontevedra, L'Espagne, avant le 30 de septembre 2010 à 18 heures. Tous les ouvrages qui auront été cachetés par la poste avant le 30 septembre à 18 heures seront admis.
• Conditions
Les ouvrages primés et tous leurs droits seront acquis en propriété par Bodegas Terras Gauda, S.A., tous droits réservés pour la reproduction des ouvrages primés.
Le reste de affiches participant seront détruites devant notaire pour assurer à leurs auteurs la non-utilisation des mêmes.
• Jury
Le jury de la Neuvième èdition du Prix Francisco Mantecón d'Affiches sera présidé par M. José Mª Fonseca Moretón, Président de Bodegas Terras Gauda, et sera formé des autres personnes suivante:

- M. Emilio Gil - Dessinateur graphique
- M. Enrique Costas Rodríguez - Directeur Général de Bodegas Terras Gauda
- Mme. Corina Porro Martínez - Présidente de l'Autorité portuaire de Vigo et de la Fondation Port de Vigo
- M. Agustín Quevedo - Directeur de l'art de la revue Hola
- M. Paulino Novo Folgueira - Philologue qui interviendra en tant que Secrétaire
- M. Ángel Luis González - Gagnant de l'édition précédente
La décision du jury sera sans appel et c'est à lui qu'il reviendra de résoudre toute circonstance non prévue dans le règlement.
• Prix
Bodegas Terras Gauda donndera:
• PREMIER PRIX DOTÉ DE 10.000 EUROS
• PREMIER ACCESIT "FONDATION PORT DE VIGO", DOTÉ DE 2.000 EUROS
• DEUXIÈME ACCÉSIT, DOTÉ DE 2.000 EUROS
• MENTION SPÉCIALE, DOTÉ DE 2.000 EUROS
(La cave se réserve le droit d'accorder une mention spéciale)
Le jury pourra déclarer désert n'importe lequel des prix. Dans ce cas, le montant correspondant sera donné à un organisme qui, de l'avis du jury, se sera distingué en Galice pour son travail social ou culturel.
• Remise des Prix
La communication de la décision du jury sera rendue publique avant le 31 décembre 2010, au lieu et à la date qui seront communiqués en temps voulu aux auteurs dont les œuvres seront sélectionnées comme finalistes du concours, et sur www.terrasgauda.com yet www.franciscomantecon.com
